Come out to the Roethke House, 1805 Gratiot, Saginaw, for neighborhood elementary students entering grades K-4. Friends of Theodore Roethke, in keeping with their mission "To promote the literacy legacy of Theodore Roethke for educational opportunities", will offer a summer arts/reading program using review books published by Tri-C Publications in accordance with the National Standards of Teachers of English. We are planning for a small group of students and volunteer tutors. Spot are limited! Parents are also welcome to tutor or help in the kitchen. Breakfast snacks will be offered at each session. Reading Review Booklets given to students who have completed reading workshop sessions. Motion activities and crafts taken from the poet's 1920 era in his historic backyard. The sessions will run from 9:30-11am with the cost of $15 per student for 9 sessions. Scholarships are available. Series will run on July 17-19, 24-26 & 31.
